App Meet Me
Research, IA, Prototype, Usabity test, Bridge
This academic work studies the features of a new product which has the provisional name "Meet Me". The product proposes to help friends find the best places to hang out while considering their locations. They can add 2 or more addresses so the app can find places between these addresses.
TOOLS: Illustrator, Photoshop
The problem
Smartphones are essential items nowadays. Not only do they entertain us, they also make our lives easier. Many popular apps evaluate and find places to hang out, but none can find places midpoint of different locations. Imagine that you are planning to have dinner with two friends but they live far from you and each other. You guys want to find a restaurant convenient and close to everybody.
The context
To start the project, the first step was to interview the developer of the existing system. The objective of the interview was to know their motivations for creating the website; to understand how the system works now; and what their ambitions are for the product.
EMPATHIZE
With this information, I ran a Bridge workshop to understand the opinion of people from various areas and backgrounds, including designers, developers, and potential future users. The result of the Bridge was the basis for creating a list of features.
SOLUTION PROPOSAL
Testing the functionality means guaranteeing the product operates according to the specifications. I made a list of pages, a navigation diagram, and screen sketches (wireframes).
Prototype & validation
From sketches, we created a prototype and subsequent usability tests were carried out with six users.
The opinions of the participants during many stages of this project showed that the product can successfully enter the market. The most common feedback from users was that they would like to use the product.
